Oki-NamiOki-Nami consists of a Japanese delicatessen and a stylish two-floor restaurant and bar, both in the heart of Brighton. The Oki-Nami Japanese shop can be found at 12 York Place and was the first true Japanese Delicatessen in Sussex. The shop has been a firm favorite for the past 7 years selling everything from ceramics and Japanese Sushi making items to take away Sushi and sauces. Oki-Nami Japanese shop aspire to have everything you could need to create an authentic Japanese Experience at home and if you are not able to get to the shop then you can buy many of the goods online. Oki-Nami the restaurant was based in Hove for 13 years before this year moving to its new home just a couple of doors from the Theatre Royal in Brighton. Oki-Nami is now co-owned by leading Japanese Chef Mike Dodd and DJ Norman Cook. The design of the new restaurant is clean, simple and welcoming but what head chef Mike Dodd is truly passionate about is creating an authentic Japanese culinary experience, using two fundamental principles of Japanese cooking, the quality and the freshness of ingredients. |
